Animation and Videos

Manamana

Not your average song and the video sure was fun to make. This piece was created using Adobe Illustrator. I teamed up with a partner for this video. They created the design and animation on the lead character, and I created the design and animation of the backup singers. You can see the difference in styles, as their character is pretty flat and there isn’t much differentiation in movement, where the two I created, I spent a lot of time creating and perfecting detailed texture and motion.

Water

This was a powerful video to create. The video was created using Photoshop, frame by frame and was intended as an informative video about our earth’s diminishing fresh water supply. While creating the video, I was instructed to do research and include a short essay on the decrease in our planet’s fresh water supply, and its effects on our ecosystem.

Hand Drawn Animations

All three of these animations were created by taking between 100 – 150 note cards, drawing on each one, and running them through a specialized camera that turned them into video frames. I spent many hours on each of these, hand drawing each frame using blank note cards and a light board.

Dragon Eye

The assignment was metamorphosis. The transformation is intuitive.

Punk Rock Meet Cute

This video tells the classic story of attraction and desire, from a Punk Rock perspective. It was one of the most fun, and simultaneously the most tedious projects I’ve ever worked on.

See Through My Eye

For this assignment, we were instructed to use our personal expression to create the motion of a bouncing ball. This weird, campy, animation is a simple example of how my mind can turn a simple illustrative adage into a twisted literal transformative.
